A Bible verse on his arm wasn’t a one-off for Browns rookie quarterback Taylen Green. Speaking on The Heisman Podcast while he was at Arkansas, Green explained: “I write a Bible verse on my left arm… whatever God puts on my heart.” And Green hasn’t just worn Scripture. At Arkansas, teammate Jaden Platt said Green led the team Bible study, calling him “a follower of Jesus.” Then, after breaking multiple quarterback records at the NFL Combine, Green made his priorities unmistakable. “First, the most important Person in my life is Jesus Christ.” So when Green stepped onto an NFL field with Proverbs 3:5 written on his arm, it fitted a pattern that has followed him throughout his football journey. Jesus first. Football careers are uncertain. Plans don’t always work out. But Jesus gives us something infinitely greater to trust than ourselves.
