Cincinnati Reds rookie Sal Stewart is having a remarkable season, but when the spotlight turned toward him on one of baseball’s biggest stages, he made sure the glory went somewhere higher. During Cincinnati’s 7–5 victory over the Chicago Cubs on August 30, Stewart launched a pivotal seventh-inning home run at Wrigley Field. As he approached home plate on the nationally televised broadcast, Stewart pointed upward, looked toward the camera and boldly declared: “Jesus is King!” 👑✝️ For Stewart, it wasn’t an isolated expression of faith. Earlier this season, the 22-year-old explained that while reaching Major League Baseball had once been his dream, his priorities changed after growing in his relationship with Christ. “My dream now is just to glorify His name.” He has also spoken openly about finding his identity in Jesus rather than in baseball, recognizing that athletic success can disappear while Christ remains everlasting. That message is powerful. The world often tells us to use success to build our own name. But the Christian life calls us to use whatever platform God gives us to glorify His name. Whether the platform is a baseball stadium, a workplace, a classroom, a social-media page, or simply our own home, every believer has an opportunity to point people toward Jesus.
