US soccer captain Christian Pulisic posted a picture of his bible with these verses underlined: 1 Corinthians 1:27: “God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong”. 1 Corinthians 1:31: “Boast in the Lord”. These verses remind us not to rely on our own ‘strengths’ - but acknowledge that we’re weak without God - and we need to rely on him above all. It’s awesome to see Pulisic grounding himself in scripture ahead of the biggest summer of his career - a World Cup in his own country. God is our strength. 🙌
