LA Chargers defensive coordinator Chris O’Leary used an NFL sideline moment to point people to Scripture. 🙏🏈 During the Chargers’ preseason game against the 49ers, O’Leary held up his play sheet to the camera with one message written across it: “PSALM 139:14” The verse reads: “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” And this wasn’t out of character for O’Leary. When he was introduced as the Chargers’ defensive coordinator earlier this year, one of the first things he said was: “First, I want to give glory to God. I try to walk in a way that Jesus is the author of my life.” Whether it’s behind a microphone or in the middle of an NFL game, O’Leary continues to make it clear where his faith is found.
