Avah Armour

UCF volleyball standout Avah Armour is making an impact on the court, but the All-American says her identity is rooted in something much greater than athletic success: her faith in Jesus Christ. 🙏🏐 Armour is coming off an outstanding 2025 season in which she recorded a career-high 457 kills and 513 points, earned All-Big 12 First Team honors, was named Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and received AVCA All-America Honorable Mention recognition. She has since been unanimously selected to the 2026 Big 12 Preseason Team. (UCF Knights⁠) But despite the awards and recognition, Armour has spoken openly about refusing to let accomplishments determine how she sees herself. In a feature published by UCF Athletics, Armour explained that college has helped her grow deeper in her relationship with God. “For me, it’s important to have the ministry and my faith to build my own perspective on navigating these experiences,” she said. (UCF Knights⁠) She also described learning that love and identity cannot be based on how well she performs. Whether she has a great match or a difficult one, the people closest to her still love her the same — a lesson that has helped keep her grounded as her profile in college volleyball continues to grow. (UCF Knights⁠) That perspective carries a powerful reminder for every Christian: our value is not determined by statistics, trophies, careers, popularity or the approval of others. Our identity is found in Christ. 📖 “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” — Colossians 3:3 The world may constantly ask us to prove our worth, but Jesus has already shown us how valuable we are. Success can disappear. Awards can collect dust. Seasons eventually end. But who we are in Christ remains. May we learn to say, in every victory and every disappointment: Jesus defines who I am and what I’m worth.
