Abbey Queen / Ashland University
Abbey entered the transfer portal on her birthday. She thought she was transferring for volleyball. She didn’t realize God was transferring her there for Himself. 🏐🙏
“When I was chasing the world He was still chasing me.”
Abbey Queen is a standout senior volleyball libero for the Ashland University Eagles who frequently credits her deep faith in God as a driving force behind her resilience, leadership, and success on the court. Originally from Powell, Ohio, she transferred to Ashland from Wheeling University and immediately left a mark by breaking the program's single-season digs record with 624 digs
Volleyball as a Ministry: Rather than focusing on personal accolades like her single-season digs record, she views her sport as a vessel, stating, "He's given me the gift of volleyball, so I can make an impact on someone."
Faith & Inspiration: Queen has openly shared that her mom inspires her to make volleyball "more than just a game by using it to grow my faith and become strong and independent." She has noted that her faith helps her navigate challenges and pressures both on and off the court.
